The plastic parts of my VERY EXPENSIVE Kitchenaid dishwasher began falling off within weeks. Some fell off after warranty and it would have cost me close to $200 to have parts replaced.

It started with the top rack wheel assembly. Then some pieces that I can't even identify. Others are still falling off. The dishwasher is only a few years old and breaking apart.

Then to the cleaning aspect. The salesman told me "the dirtier the dishes the better." I use the new "enzyme activated" detergent and constantly have to rewash my dishes or rinse them so thoroughly what's the point of a dishwasherI will never buy another Kitchenaid product

Monetary Loss: $800.

Location: Sarasota, Florida

Yes, the wheels come off the thing in under 2 years. Engineers must be idiots to pick material that can't stand up to a dishwasher.

I fixed it them with a paperclip! 3 minutes, one paper clip bent and wrapped to secure the wheel, done. Now the piece of junk won't run -- tries to start, doesn't and cancels. Not yet 3 years old.

No more Kitchen Aide.

I'd rather not even pay whatever it is to fix it -- instead go find something simple, under $500, and replace it. I'll be better off.

Why can't stuff work like it did in the '60s?
