We purchased an expensive Kitchenaid dishwasher 14 months ago. The door is rusting on the front and sides of door. The company refuses to do anything about it, stating it is cosmetic. Having nice looking appliances is part of why you buy new. This is very frustrating...

KitchenAid in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan - Broken Kitchen Aid Dishwasher

1.1
Details
We purchased a kitchen aid dishwasher in 2011. It never really dried our dishes . Then this year (2016) the rack fell apart and little ball bearing fell out of the sliders that hold the rack together. Called Kitchen Aid and they would not help fix the rack without sending a repair company for $89 and then come back with another service call with the parts. I have purchased all kitchen aid appliances in 2015 for our kitchen and find they are terribly made and the service is terrible. Don't purchase Kitchen Aid products. They are garbage !!!!

KitchenAid in Hamilton, Michigan - Kitchen Aid Dishwasher

I purchased a new Kitchen Aid dishwasher 6 months ago. Since that time, the supports for the upper rack has broken. This last time, the rack fell off completely breaking glasses and dishes. They came out and replaced the same, poorly engineered, plastic parts that cause this problem. The repair man told us he carries these parts in his truck because "they break all the time". Kitchen Aid is well aware of this issue, but does not stand behind the issue and retrofit the parts to prevent breakage. They just replace parts until it's out of warranty, then it's your problem.

WeI agree about the dishwasher plastic parts breaking, this is our fourth repair, customer service could care less. It is aweful that kitchen aid doesn't stand behind their product.

I will never buy another one of their products and make sure that everyone I know is aware, especially if I am in a store that carries them, I wouldn't want anyone to buy their products and go through what we have had to go through.

It's a shame that consumers are continuously getting taken advantage of. If you are going to sell a product, stand behind it!

Good info. Pass it around to anyone thinking of buying a new dishwasher.

KitchenAid in Gladwin, Michigan - Upper rack made of cheap plastic

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher in March 2011 from Lowes, I chose the KitchenAid brand and paid a slightly higher amount as I was told they are well built and work better than any other brand on the market, and because I thought they would stand by their product. In December 2012 the upper rack adjuster broke because it is made of plastic and the dishwasher has the lift higher feature, that is used quite a bit. I contacted customer service and they said the part was out of stock and finally in late January I received the replacement part, Last week it broke again same place so I contacted customer service again and I asked them if anyone else has this issue and I was told they could not discuss this with me but there is no recall. was told I am sorry but the part is in stock call Marcone to order the part. The cost is 40.00 plus shipping, I am so angry right now, I have a dishwasher that is useless. without the top rack in the upper spray unit will not work.

A bunch of dishes broke when the rack fell and some glass got into the motor. 400 dollars to replace the motor.

KitchenAid says "so sorry, not a thing we can do." Had the machine for just over 2 years. Seeing how many complaints there are about the cheap plastic holding the wheels on to the rack I think it is time for a recall.
