After about 15 business days I received a call from the appliance company saying they will be at my house in an hour to pick up the Kitchenaid dishwasher, and give me the buyout check. No courtesy call beforehand asking if that would be a good time, so they were lucky someone was home.

My husband asked the appliance man what would be done with the dishwasher, and he said it would go in the trash, and that he gets paid $150.00 to pick them up. Kitchenaid had responded to my post saying that it is a third-party that supplies the extended warranty, so it was out of their hands. Kitchenaid is owned by Whirlpool. Really?

So why was my buyout check from Whirlpool? BTW Kitchenaid people, I love my new Bosch dishwasher.

A year and a half ago I purchased a Kitchenaid dishwasher Model KDTE704DSS1. Supposedly the top of the line.

Less than a year later the motor had to be replaced. Luckily, (or so I thought), I purchased a 5 year extended warranty, because a few months later the electrical panel failed and had to be replaced. This past Sunday, only three months after the panel was replaced, the new panel died. The warranty will not repair it.

They say they now have no service providers in my area. Yeah right. I was given 45 days to decide whether I would take their buyout, and have the warranty cancelled, or I could wait to see if a service company became available. Checking their available service, they said there was nothing for January or February.

Obviously trying to cut their losses, I was backed in to a corner. No matter what, they were not going to honor the extended warranty I bought in good faith. So now I have to disconnect the dishwasher and have it ready for pickup from an appliance company, who will give me my buyout check. I Googled them, they are close by, and offer service to appliances.

Such a scam. I called Kitchenaid, and got nothing but 'I am so sorry'.

No offer of help of any kind. So out I go today to buy a new dishwasher, but it won't be a Kitchenaid.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $600.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

KitchenAid Cons: Unreliable poorly made product, Unhelpful customer service.

Dear NEA007:

We are sorry to hear of your Dishwasher concerns.

Since youโ€™re currently under an extended warranty you are contracted with that provider instead of Whirlpool Corporation (the manufacturer). The extended service company should be abiding by the terms and conditions of your extended warranty.

You will want to review your contact, and discuss your options further with the plan administrator that holds your contract as they will be able to provide you with the best assistance possible.

Thank you.
